Into the Depths
There's a lot more happening in these images than I maybe have time for, but I'll try.
First, this is in Scottsboro, AL. so the history of this town is already interesting enough as it is. To find this place in its desolate magnitude was breathtaking.
I shot with Fujifilm Acros 100 pushed to 800 on the Voigtlander Bessa R2A | Zeiss 50mm (Dream Combo). I'd never pushed Acros before and had a hint that it might not push well. I was wrong! Now... with that said... I've lost almost all detail in the shadows and really into the look it gives off but could definitely go with something a little less harsh. Disclaimer, the sun was harsh enough as it was and didn't help anything.
I'm in love with the results, especially in this environment. This pushed film was made for these type of environment and I'm very thankful to just so happen to have them all line up on the same day.
Next step is for me to work with Kodak TMax 400 and push it to 1600. I'll have plenty of fun with that next week when I'm in Seattle. Until then, I hope you enjoy this set. This is one of two, maybe three photo sets in this area. Stay tuned for that!
